Bush Rating Plateaus As Congress Plumbs New Lows
The IBD/TIPP Presidential Leadership Index continued its recent sideways action this month, ticking down just a half-point to 32.0. While hovering just above the 31.7 low set in May, and well below the 50.0 level indicates a positive reading, the index is well above the approval ratings that Congress has registered in other polls. The average for those, according to RealClearPolitics.com, is 18.5, with the Rasmussen Poll recently finding that just 9% of its respondents think Congress is doing a good or excellent job.
