Opinion is all over the park when it comes to drilling for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Which may explain why politicians are too. Candidate John McCain, for example, is all for drilling offshore but remains opposed to ANWR development. And Sen. Ben Nelson, a Nebraska Democrat, said last week that Congress should take up offshore drilling but leave ANWR alone. ANWR, in fact, appears to be as much a political issue as an energy issue.
